This is just me griping about a bad day. Feel free to ignore.
I normally try to go to sleep fairly early Friday night because I have to be at work at 8:15 on Saturday mornings. Except last night I was still awake at 2:30. Then once I did get to sleep I woke up a couple times during the night and ten minutes before my alarm went off. I was absolutely exhausted, but I grabbed something quickly for breakfast and went to work.
When I got there Szu-Ju, the girl I work with, noted that I looked really tired. I explained that I *was* really tired, and started waiting for 1:00 to roll around so I could go home and take a nap. Later I actually put my head in my arms and lay down on the desk; my stomach was bothering me too. At that point Szu-Ju suggested I go take a quick nap on the couch in the break room. She's done it before, and I have once too. It's not a big deal; few people come into the Law Library Saturday mornings, and even fewer people need our help. There are also no supervisors around to call us on it. So I went back, lay down, and fell asleep.
I woke up an hour later when the reference librarian came in to eat lunch before starting her shift at noon. And she actually apologized for waking me up! I had only meant to lie down for 10 or 15 minutes. I went back out, and Szu-Ju asked if I was feeling better. Unfortunately I wasn't really, and Szu-Ju said she wouldn't mind if I left early. I love her. Normally I would have said I was okay and could make it until 1:00, but today... no. I left, came home, and slept.
The SIS Spring Picnic was this afternoon at Dr. Allard's house, and I had initially thought I would go home, sleep for an hour or two, and then head over to the picnic. Four hours later I work up from my nap and then even dozed a bit after that. Obviously I missed the picnic, and my stomach is still grumbling a bit, but putting some food into it helped. It still doesn't feel wonderful, but I'm out of bed for the first time since work.
I meant to get a lot of schoolwork done today at work and afterward as well. I have done nothing but send a couple e-mails. If I start feeling a lot better later maybe I can get some reading done, but I'm still a bit sleepy. Sigh. Hopefully tomorrow I will feel better and be more productive.
