Back in Knoxville
Jul. 8th, 2006 01:10 pmWell, I'm back in Knoxville. I made it back yesterday evening around 6:00. Dragged my luggage up to my apartment, looked at it, and decided I could wait to actually unpack. I called a bunch of people to let them know I was back safe and sound. I got Matt's voice mail when I called him, but he called me back later, and we hung out last night. Stayed up too late. Stupid jet-lag.
Today I slept too late. When I finally got up I took a shower and have unpacked some things. I now have a pile of three weeks worth of dirty laundry, and I don't think it's getting touched until tomorrow. I also have to go grocery shopping so I'll have food besides frozen waffles in my apartment. *That* I will do today. I'm also going to see "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" this evening with Matt. I'm looking forward to it!
For anyone who's interested, an account and pictures of my trip will follow once things here (like laundry) get done, and once I'm back on EDT time. I also have to actually label and sort through the pictures.
Also I did this conversion since I was curious. Gas in NZ costs 1.70 NZ dollars per liter. That works out to 6.4352 NZ dollars per gallon and 3.92163 US dollars. The decision to do the conversion was partly due to this conversation:
Stephanie: 1.70?! Oh my god, gas is CHEAP here!
Me: Um, that's per liter, not gallon...
Stephanie: Oh.
