Back in Auckland
Jul. 3rd, 2006 02:17 pmAnd I'm back in Auckland, NZ! Actually, I've been back for a couple days I just haven't had the time/energy to get to the internet cafe until now. Anyway, these are my last days of the trip. Our plane leaves at 7:45 pm on July 5th from Auckland and gets into LAX at 12:40 pm on the same day, 7 hours earlier. Time zones are fun. Then we fly to Denver and finally from there to BWI getting in at 5:10 am on the 6th. The 5th will be a long day; and I have to go through it twice!
As for leaving, I have mixed feelings. On one hand, I am VERY ready to be home. To be some place where I'm not rooming with seven other people (there are 8 to a hostel room). Where I don't have to coordinate showers, sleeping, and getting up so we disturb each other as little as possible. Where I can just get some quiet time by myself which I need every so often. And I can see my friends from the USA again!
On the other hand, I'll miss the friends I've made here, and Australia and New Zealand have been wonderful. The people here are nice, and I keep thinking how amazing it is that I'm on the other side of the world. And who knows if I'll ever get back here again? I hope I do, but there's no gurantee it will happen.
Overall, the trip has been awesome. As ready as I say I am to go home, I do love it here. What I would like to do, ideally, would be to take a week break back in the US, and then come back here. If only that were possible. That's it for now. I have to get ready for tomorrow's trip. We're going to see places where "Lord of the Rings" was filmed! Yay!
One last thing, I will post a trip synopsis and pictures after getting back to TN. For those of you who rememer what I posted about my trip to France and England last summer, it will be like that.
