Comment if you want some, and I'll ask you five random questions.
My questions:
1. The Book Genie will grant your wish to be inside any book. Which book do you choose and why?
That's hard. I don't think I can pick just one book. Instead I'd like to be in parts of different books. I'd like to be in the Foundation novels by Isaac Asimov when they travel in space because I would love to experience space travel. I'd like to travel to Xanth (by Piers Anthony) and experience the magic. Along the same lines, I'd love to spend time at Hogwarts and Diagon Alley. I wouldn't even mind jumping into the Cat Who... books briefly (by Lilian Jackson Braun) to meet Koko and Yum Yum. There are probably other books that aren't jumping to my mind right now.
2. Where would you live if money were no object?
Everywhere! I'd have a house in California, Hawaii, France, Australia, New Zealand, England, Japan, Kenya... Multiple houses would be useful for travel purposes. However for a place to settle permanently, probably somewhere on the east coast of the US. After all, that's where I grew up. I'm not entirely sure where on the east coast though. Maybe I'd have one house in the South and one up North in PA.
3. If you could have the answer to one question, what would it be?
I'd want to know if God/heaven exist. I've heard arguments on both sides, and I really am not sure what exactly I believe. Knowing that would sure clear up the confusion I experience whenever I think about religion.
4. What is your favorite time of the year?
Early Spring. I love it when the flowers are starting to bloom on the trees, and the weather is just starting to get warm. I'm not a big fan of layers or lots of clothes, so it's always nice when I can wear shorts, a t-shirt, and sandals instead of jeans, a sweatshirt, and real shoes. I also just love the feeling of everything coming back to life after the winter.
5. Is there any aspect of librarianship that you dislike?
The internet. Don't get me wrong, the internet can be a great source of information. I loved the databases we had at the library. However I hate that people think they can go to wikipedia or any other website and find accurate information. The have no idea how to judge between information that's from a reliable source, and information that anyone could have put out there. Then there are the people who say, "Why do we need librarians when we can just Google anything we need?" It drives me crazy.
