1. I've been meaning to post about this for a while, but I've been crocheting. I got a crochet hook and knitting needles plus some yarn as a white elephant gift at Christmas. After the holidays were over I started going to Loop Group a knit/crochet group that meets Thursday evenings at the library. Ruth, a coworker, teaches it. So far all I can do is single crochet, but I'm going to learn other types later. Right now I'm crocheting a scarf (my first ever crochet project!), and it's getting close to being finished. It took some time though. First I was skipping stitches at the end of each row, then I was just skipping them at one end. Each time I needed to undo several rows and start again. Now I'm finally staying straight. There are some pictures under the cut.

2. Finally some good news related to my car! I cleaned out my car when it was at the body shop getting an estimate. I thought I had gotten everything (ice scraper, maps, CDs, etc.), but I realized that I had forgotten my license plate rim (is that the right term?) that says, "Alumna: Randolph-Macon Woman's College". I panicked a bit and called State Farm asking if there was any way I could still get it back even though my car was no longer at the body shop. They gave me the name of the place that had my car, and I called them. They said they would check my car and mail me the rim if it was still there. I got it yesterday in the mail. This makes me happy because I'm not sure that rim is replaceable. R-MWC no longer exists. :(
3. My dad needs to lean to be more specific. We had this conversation earlier:
Dad: Do you like stuff?
Me (surprised): Do I like stuff?
Dad: Yeah, do you like stuff?
Me: Um, yeah... I like *some* stuff...
Dad: Well, do you like jewelry and t-shirts?
Me: Yes...
Dad: Okay.
I assume that means he and mom are bringing me something when they come to visit next month. It was an odd conversation though.
