Very Odd Dream...

So last night I dreamed that I was studying abroad in Vietnam. Not back when I was a student, but now as I am. And apparently my parents has signed me up to study in Vietnam without telling me. They told me the day I was supposed to leave. The family I was staying with basically lived in a house like this and kept things refrigerated in a basement dug into the ground with blocks of ice in it. Not because they were primitive; they had electricity and running water in the house. They just chose to refrigerate things that way. Why a family living in such a small house chose to take on an exchange student, my dream did not clarify. I seem to remember that there was room for me though. You also had to go through the door on your hands and knees because it wasn't tall enough to walk through normally. In my dream this was normal. The family didn't speak a lot of English, and I don't speak any Vietnamese. I kept trying to communicate in French for some reason... I also must have been hungry while I was dreaming because in my dream we ate dinner. I explained to the family that I was vegetarian and didn't eat fish (they understood that somehow). I was served asparagus, a potato pancake, and peaches. I dropped one of my peaches on the floor. In real life I'm no fond of peaches or asparagus. We discussed holidays after that, and to my surprise they celebrated Valentine's Day, Thanksgiving, and St. Patrick's Day. At that point I worried whether or not I had packed and green clothing. The dream ended after that.

I am still very confused by this dream. I have no idea what it's trying to tell me. I have never been to Vietnam, and I've never thought about going to Vietnam. Then there's the fact that they celebrated Thanksgiving and didn't have a normal sized door. Such a weird dream!
