I just had my first encounter with reaching into the bookdrop and pulling out a wet and sticky book. I know that's kind of a rite of passage for people working in public libraries, but it was disgusting. Three books have a brown, sticky liquid on them. I'm telling myself it's chocolate ice cream. If anyone has any other guesses as to what it might be, please keep them to yourselves. This reaffirms my decision to wash my hands first thing every day after I get home.
