I'm in a New York State of Mind...
Jun. 7th, 2007 12:02 pmI'm leaving for NYC tomorrow! As I've mentioned before I'm going to NYC with some other members of the UT choirs to sing in Carnegie Hall. We leave tomorrow morning. There are actually four different flight, and I am very grateful that I ended up on the 11:10 flight as opposed to the one that leaves at 7:30 in the morning. We get into La Guardia a little after 5:00, and we have a layover in (for some reason) Cincinnati, OH. My mom and dad are also coming tomorrow, taking the train from Harrisburg, PA. We're meeting up and having dinner tomorrow evening. Saturday night we're seeing "Phantom of the Opera". Beyond that, I don't know what else we'll do. I'd like to see Central Park at some point, and possibly the Museum of Natural History or the New York Public Library. It'll depend on that we have time for between rehearsals. Two of my aunts have expressed interest in seeing my concert, but I still don't know if they're actually coming or not. My cousin Aaron (who lives in NYC) is also going to see the concert.
The only thing I'm not looking forward to is sharing a room with three other people which means we'll also be sharing beds. The hotel we're staying in is very nice (read expensive) so putting four of us in a room makes sense to bring down costs. It's just that, given the choice, I would prefer my own bed. Actually, I could have opted for a room with only one other person, but that would have added close to another $1000 onto the bill. Um, no. It's only for a few days. I'll deal with it. After all, when will I ever get the chance to sing in Carnegie Hall again?
I'm also not bringing my laptop since this is only a few days, and I'll likely be too busy sightseeing and singing to do much online anyway. So I'll be offline from tomorrow through Tuesday evening. I hope everyone has a good weekend!
