Dad is nuts.
Aug. 4th, 2006 09:36 pmI talked to mom and dad today to ask about directions to our new house since on Monday I'm driving home for a visit. We had this conversation:
Dad: It's simple, it's only three turns.
Mom (in the background): Don't tell her that! It's a lot more than three turns.
Dad: You know how to get to 225, right?
Me: No.
Dad: How about 322?
Me: No.
Dad: How about the old house? Do you know how to get there?
Me: *sigh* Of course I know that!
Dad starts explaining the directions to me.
Me: That sounds like a lot more than three turns!
Dad: Well, it's three turns from 225. I go up there so often I think of that as the starting point.
Me: Dad, let me explain something to you. I went to school in York. My job was in York. My friends live in York. Why on earth would I be familiar with 322 and 225?!
Dad: I don't know... I know where they are.
I love my dad, but sometimes he assumes that if *he* knows where something is *everyone* should know where it is! Sheesh.
