Actually, forget Halloween. It's not even my birthday yet and I saw them putting up Christmas trees in K-Mart. Gah. Excuse me while I scream and possibly throw up. Now I know I'm not the most authoritative person on religion, but I seem to remember Christmas being about more than setting things up months in advance so that a) people will spend tons of money that in some cases they don't have and b) buy lots of tacky house decorations. I'll be the first to admit I love Christmas. I always have and since my love survived intact, even after working retail for two Christmases, I probably always will. But it's SEPTEMBER! September 6! I know this may shock some people, but Christmas is in DECEMBER. The *end* of December. And seriously, Christmas is supposed to be about celebrating the birth of Christ if you're religious, and even if you're not it's supposed to be about love, peace, and family. You know the lyrics, "peace on earth, goodwill towards men", and if you don't know them, you'll probably be hearing them in the stores any day now. Sigh. Personally, I will probably have some decorations here in my apartment that will be waiting for me to take down when I get back from break in January. And while my decorations might go up before Thanksgiving, they will not go up before Halloween and *certainly* not before my birthday. So yeah, I'm not ready for Christmas yet, even if the stores are. I wouldn't want Christmas to come when it's sunny and 85 degrees anyway.
