Tomorrow is the Day!
Jul. 1st, 2005 01:36 pmYep, tomorrow I leave for Europe! The plane doesn't actually leave until 8:45 pm, so I won't get to Paris until Sunday though. Still, I can't wait to go! I miss France so much, and I'm really looking forward to going back to visit Angers. That was where I lived when I studied abroad in France; it's such a nice little town. We're going to try to hit Versailles, and of course see all the touristy things like Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower, etc. After all, mom has never been to Paris. And dad hasn't been for close to 30 years.
England is going to be fun too. We're visiting Stonehenge, and another town near there (the name escapes me at the moment), and of course London! In London we're seeing two musicals, "The Lion King" (dad's choice), and "Phantom of the Opera" (I insisted). I am also planning on going to visit King's Cross Station. Yeah, I admit it; I want to see Platform 9 3/4. And again, we're going to do touristy things.
It's funny; I've been to France three times, and dad asked me what we should do there. I ran off a list of tons of things. Then he asked what I wanted to do in England. I think I kinda gave him a blank look. I was there for, I don't even think 48 hours, three years ago. I said, "Well, I'd like to go back to the British Museum, and see King's Cross Station... Give me the guidebook, and I'll look for some other stuff that sounds cool."
The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the plane ride, but I should have enough stuff in my carry on to keep my occupied. Hopefully I'll sleep through part of it. *crosses fingers* I'm still a bit wary about travelling with my parents, but I think there will be several occasions where I can escape them. They really only insisted I stay with them in Angers, which makes sense.
So that's it! If I find a web cafe type thing while I'm over there, I might post a quick update. If not, I will when I get back. *waves* See everybody in two weeks!!
